My moto in life

"Practice makes the maestro."
After every training we are told the same way. We should never give up, because if you have the will, you can achieve every aim!

"No hour of life is lost that is spent in the saddle!"

Sunshine (Bolovan), as I already mentioned, he is a Gidran. The Gidran Arabian breed was founded in 1785. Its history can be traced back to the stallion Siglavy Gidran, who was imported from Arabia in 1816. The breed was originally developed for use as cavalry horses. The Gidran Arabian is a large upstanding horse, solidly built, and exhibiting quality and class. It is suitable for competitive riding, being a good sports horse.

In appearance, they are attractive large horses, nearly always chestnut in color. The neck is refined. They stand at between 16-16,2 hh, although occasionally are as big as 17 hh.

"Nobody can teach riding as well as a horse!"

I think that nobody can argue with this statement! Sunshine is a Gidran. We call him Bolovan (it means: big rock) because he's so big.

My trainer and Yavrum

She's an example for us to follow!

Training

Riding is a hard sport. You have to find harmony with the horse that you are riding. It's not just about you; you have to pay attention to the horse to. This thing happens backwards to. If the horse feels that you are affraid of something, then he will be affraid of that same thing. You need to trust him!

With Flame

She's a very special and sensitive mare. I think I founded my favourite horse.
She is a Holstein. The breed takes its name from the Schleswig-Holstein area where it was originated. They have a superb temperament making them very easy to get along with and are highly versatile, being talented at both dressage and jumping, which makes them popular competition horses worldwide. They can be any solid color, although they are often bay, and stand from between 16 hh and 17 hh.

Horse fact

"The one great precept and practice in using a horse is this, never deal with him when you are in a fit of passion."
Xenophon, The Art of Horsemanship

Horses today

To a greater extent nowadays, horses and ponies are used primarily in recreational pursuits. They provide pleasure to people of all riding abilities and levels, and from all walks of life, from simple pony trekking holidays to international level competitions. It is interesting to note, as just one example of how the horse's role in society has changed, how the Oldenburgh and Hanoverian breeds, which were once most sought after as carriage horses, are now highly popular as competition and riding horses. A large amount of time and money goes into breeding top-rate competition and race horses, and it is every breeder's dream to produce the ultimate equine winner.

"God forbid that I should go to any heaven in which there are no horses."

Wrote Robert Bontine Cunningham-Graham in 1917, and this is, I am sure, a true sentiment that is shared by all horse lovers. There is perhaps nothing as beautiful as the spectacle of man and horse performing together in unity through mutual understanding.
The horse has, since the virtual beginnings of time, been of enormous importance to man, whether for food, for travel, or working on farmland.
They are highly adaptable, and can live in a wide variety of different climates and terrains.
